You guys are waaaay too uptight. That was hysterical. Consider this, if they didn't do it that way, you'd have never heard about it right? As they say on bus benches...'you've just proved it works'.
Imagine, being an idiot for voting for a party that's concerned about asbestos in childrens toys. Wow, that's cold dude.
And no, it didn't get people talking about or even noticing the issue of asbestos in children's toys - it got people talking about what a freaking joke the NDP is.
Can anyone imagine Ed Broadbent holding a press conference with puppets and talking in a Mickey Mouse voice?
I am sick of the NDP - federal election wise, I'm not voting for them anymore til they get a real leader again. Provincially/municipally it's still an open field, but no more of these losers in Ottawa, please. A guy who opens every stump speech with, "We know we can't form a government." Well Broadbent thought he could, and he did the best.
ARGH! I'm going to play with an asbestos-laden children's toy, I'm so choked up with blind rage!
You want to see something even better. Catch a re-run of todays question period in the Legislature....it seems that Mr. Graham can't even provide a one syllable answer (Yes or No) to a question by the leader of the opposition. Now that was a circus.
BlueBoy if you are going to comment on my blog I would appreciate it if you would approve the comments I made on yours correcting factual inaccuracies.
Hmmm, a comment about a topic stating that people weren't actually talking about the topic. Interesting. As mentioned aptly above, anybody who has spent five seconds watching Question Period or the House of Commons knows that having puppets on the hands isn't such a far cry. In fact, during most speeches in the house you could almost clearly see Chretien, Martin or Harpers hand clearly up some MP"s butt mouthing the words.
And actually, I think exploding GI Joe's is a great idea. Perhaps that would bring the point home to some people. Of course most people don't need it, a recent poll already shows that 60% of canadians think we shouldn't even be there. Notice how NO parties are talking about THAT. To most people canadians, hell, just as bad, afghanis dying, is just an idea or something they vaguely think about. At the very least an exploding doll may get some people to think about it. Of course plenty of others will decry it as a 'stunt', but then just talk about how 'effective' attack ads are, even when there is no election going on. Interesting how some stunts bring out the outrage and others are just business as usual.
For those who are actually worried about their kids (if you're an adult then go ahead and enjoy all the asbestos you like), the NDP has numerous articles about this crooked industry, where national policy is dictated by one highly subsidized location in Quebec:
nbpolitico......I have actually posted a few of your comments on my blog already that really did provide a hint of accuracy, (after I researched your comments), although I must say, that certainly is a one sided opinion on your part as to the biased opinion. Isn't that what blogging is all about....making people aware of the issues. Thanks for the opportunity.
Indeed, blogging is all about making people aware of the issues but if you don't allow people to debate your positions and call you to take for twisting the facts or at least looking at them from one specific perspective, I don't think that that is very responsible.
Posting a selection of my comments, those least favourable to the Liberals, makes it appear as though I endorse your other thoughts, which is not true.
I had been thinking the NDP was headed for about 7 seats but with Dion's gradual meltdown I thought the NDP might hold on by default. Now I'm confused.
Don't worry fellas, I'm willing to bet that the seat count for the NDP, as well as the Greens and Tories, goes up at the expense of the cancer ridden and corrupt Liberal party.

Yeah - I guess it was still processing on YouTube... should work now!
Ha! Ha! Good one NBP. I'd say something about guy on the right, but I'm not interested in being slapped with another lawsuit...
...at least not this week.
"Another lawsuit?" Whazzup Scott?

They caught people's attention certainly didn't they?? I think that was the point. I'm not understanding what you're wound up about with this??
leftdog, who said I was wound up? I just didn't think it was a very responsible or intelligent way to discuss a serious issue.
Will the next news conference feature exploding GI Joe action figures to protest the War in Afghanistan?
Erm, this is embarrassing.

Wow - by co-incidence, I just found and watched Layton's interview with Stephen Taylor.
What the heck?
He's polished and charming, relaxed and casual, calm and optimistic, positive and earnest - I'd consider voting for the guy.
Why isn't he this person in QP and in more press interviews??? He'd be kicking Dion's ass.
Baffling.
jason bo green......Layton is a wolf in sheeps clothing. We haven't seen the last of this creep yet but the Greenies are closing in on him Ha Ha

Did I say "another", I meant "a" because you can't count the "legal threats" as actual lawsuits can you? lol

Desperate times call for deperate measures, maybe?!? More crap like this and the NDp are going to risk looking like the 1993 PC's next election.
They really are quickly becoming the Michael Jackson of Canadian politics.
Or at the very least the 1993 NDP ;)

Oyyy
Now that was simply embarrassing. I can’t watch it again……….nails on a chalkboard isn’t that bad……lol
Man oh man that is baaad
Note to NB Liberals - scratch the "Ernie Energy" puppet idea. The pilot didn't go over too well.
